We had such a great time in Utah. It was a short trip for Nick but he was really happy to see our family and to take a break from everyday life. We were both so nervous about the flight out there but Maya did an awesome job. She slept for the take off and the landing and was only fussy for about 10 minutes of the flight. We hung out with Nick's family on Thursday and boy was everybody happy to meet our little girl! She is spoiled! Friday we spent the day with my family and had my brother's Open House, he just got married in December. My mom did a great job with all of the food preparations, even though she had 2 bad knees and was limping around. Chad and Lindsey make a super cute couple and I like her a lot. I hope I can get to know her better over the next little while. Saturday we had brunch at Nick's mom's house and met Maya's new little cousin, Leila. She is 2 weeks younger than Maya and she is so adorable and sweet! It was fun to see the two girls together. That night we did family pictures, I don't think they turned out but that's okay. Nick went home the next day and I just spent the next week hanging out with my parents and family. I got to catch up with my friends Maren and Caitie, and that was fun. We all had a great time in Utah and were sad to leave. Can't wait until our next visit!
Maya is so much fun lately, she is starting to smile a lot more and she even giggles if you catch her in a good mood. I like watching Nick with her, he loves her so much. She is trying to sit up on her own but can't balance herself yet...I think it will be any day now. Last night she was laying down on the floor in the bathroom while I was preparing her bath and I walked out for a minute and came back and there she was...on her stomach on the cold tile floor! It was the saddest thing ever. She brings so much joy to our lives and I am enjoying every minute with her.
