Goodbye sewing machine....

Nick got me a sewing machine for Mother's Day and I was sooo excited because I had been asking for this forever! Well...after about 2 weeks of trying to use it I got fed up and we returned it this weekend. I used the money to buy two dressers from my friend that we're going to sand down and re-finish. One will go in the guest room and one will go in our room. (Thanks Michele!) I posted some "before" pictures and I will post "after" pictures in a couple weeks...months, possibly.

A couple of weeks ago our disposal stopped working so Nick tore it out, cleaned it, cleaned out the pipes, and re-installed it. It just died on us, so he picked up a new one and installed it. It worked like a wonder for a week and then last weekend, on Saturday we were in the basement and he noticed there was water leaking underneath the stairs. AAH!! Apparently the pipe were so old and corroded that when he cleaned it out they just got worse and started leaking. So, last weekend was spent tearing apart the kitchen so he could put a new PVC pipe in and clean it up back there.

Maya is starting to scoot a little bit and she can kind of crawl backwards. I don't think it will be very much longer until she is getting into everything! She loves the kitties and gets so excited when one of them come into the room, they don't seem to like her very much or maybe it's that high-pitched scream she does so well. I have been doing a lot of yard work lately and she is so good to sit outside with me for an hour so I can pull weeds or mow the lawn. I tore out a bunch of weeds in our backyard, I'll include pictures.

I started working a little bit this week and forgot how much I miss my old office. I don't know how many hours a week it will be yet but for the most part I will just be going in on the weekends and after-hours. I'm so excited!

Other then work, yard work, our church callings, house repairs, Nick's studying (sometimes) and everything else going on we are really getting excited for our Giordano Family Reunion in July!! We are both trying to lose some weight so we can get in the pool with Maya for the first time.
