I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Nick was so busy last week with school, work, church, and writing a talk for Sunday but still made my weekend special. On Saturday he came home for a YM service project with this beauty:

This is such a great gift! We got a similiar plant last year but it died when we went out of town and forgot to have it watered. Nick remembered how much I loved the plant last year and surprised me. Then on Saturday night we went to dinner at Baja Fresh and spent the evening going clothes shopping for me. Nick is awesome to take shopping because he actually helps me find the cutest outfit rather than the cheapest one. I usually never take Maya shopping with me and for good reason, she is terrible in the store. She wines, pulls clothes off the racks, etc. etc. She sat in her stroller for almost an hour while I tried stuff on! Then she ate a bunch of food for dinner at Baja Fresh, she rocks! That was the best present she could ever get me :) The next day at church Nick gave a very touching and heartfelt talk and Maya spent the entire 2 hours in Nursery!! I was so happy she didn't cry the whole time, only for about 3 minutes.

I am so thankful for Maya and for the opportunity I have to be a mother. It truly is the greatest job in the world! I love watching her learn new things and put things together....why, just minutes ago I was pretending to take a nap on the living room floor and she thought it would be funny to stick her sweaty, dirty socks in my nose. I came up gasping for air and she thought it was the funniest thing in the world! After she stopped laughing she became very serious as she asked me, "Stinky??" Yes, Maya, very stinky. I love listening to her talk and how sweet her little voice is. She has made us so happy!

I'm so glad that Maya helped make your mother's day special too! You know you're a mother when it makes your day if they eat dinner. :) I know exactly what you mean by loving to hear their voice. I never grow tired of Benjamin's sweet high pitched "bye!"
