Long Weekend!!!

I love long weekends when Nick is home more! We always have such a good time. Of course he had Friday off for Independence Day but he is also taking off Monday for his birthday. Yesterday for the 4th we spent the morning at the park and going for walks then we went to our friend's house for a BBQ and way yummy food! I am still thinking about the hamburger I had :) M played with her buddy, Benjamin, and I think they had a really good time, they gave each other a couple of hugs when it was time to go home...it was adorable!! We came home and Nick played with his new tree trimming tool (say that 3 times) and Maya watched cartoons then we got ready for our little firework show. Even after all of the food we ate at the BBQ we still had room for some popcorn and drinks while we watched the spectacular show. Maya, unfortunately, was more interested in rearranging the fireworks in the box than actually watching them go off. She also had to wear her Disney Princess bike helmet while we watched the show, she knows how dangerous those fireworks can get. M finally got to bed somewhere around 10:00 and the lazy bum slept in until 10:00 this morning, ahhh, life is so difficult for her. (& us too)

We don't have a lot of plans for Nick's birthday but I think he wanted to try and take Maya to a movie during the day when most people will be at work. I'll let you know how that goes and if we actually go through with it. Here are some pictures from our weekend:
