The next day was Thanksgiving! I was really looking forward to eating and visiting. It was a pretty relaxing day because we were going to our friend's house for dinner and only needed to prepare a couple of side dishes (and NO TURKEY!!). Thanks for inviting us Dalton's! It was so nice to have some other friends to spend the holidays with since all of us are away from our families. It makes it a little easier to be across the country.
Maya tasting the whipped cream. She kept calling it "Ice Ceem"
Playing with her best friend ever!
Our Family
Maya woke up at 6:30 the next morning, she usually doesn't get up until 8:00, so I took advantage and did a little shopping on "Black Friday". I wasn't out to get anything very fun, just some practical stuff like diapers and wipes but it still felt good to get a great deal. I got two boxes of diapers for the baby and 2 boxes of wipes. Then I ran to Target and got a new printer/scanner/copier for $39.99, we've been needing a new printer for awhile and our scanner is missing a piece so I haven't been able to scan anything for a year or so. People were so pushy and crazy, I'm glad I don't do this every year! That night we had a girl's night at the Olive Garden and what a treat it was to get out without the little ones!! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of us.
The rest of the weekend we spent picking out colors for the baby's room and then Nick did all of the painting. Poor guy, what a way to spend your vacation. At least it will be all done though and we won't have to worry about it after the baby gets here. We are doing mostly tan on the walls with one red/cranberry accent wall. I think it's going to turn out really cute! Can't wait to meet our little boy. I can't believe I'm in the 27th week already! This pregnancy has gone by so fast. In a lot of ways I'm grateful, on the other hand, I am scared to death of having two kids!
Maya has been so much fun lately, she is such a little talker. I can't get enough of her and all of the funny things she says. Yesterday we did some grocery shopping and then afterwards we stopped and got some lunch. She was sitting across from me and all of a sudden put her little elbows up on the table then rested her cheeks in her hands and said, "So..Tawa (Tara)? What's your name?" I just busted up laughing at her, she is so fun. She has really been posing for the camera lately as well, here are some cute ones:
If Maya gets up before 7 am she will most likely take a nap. But on this day, apparently she wasn't tired so she decided to completely trash her room. I was in the kitchen making dinner so I didn't hear a thing!
I had to include this one with her kitty. She was so concerned that he was cold so she put his blankie on him and then they watched for snow and birds out the window.

That's hysterical that she calls you Tara. She really is such a cutie. I have fun with her every time she's here. Although I'm not quite as good at understanding her as you are, obviously.
