Nine months is TOO long

So I have decided that nine months (or ten, is it?) is just way too long to be pregnant. As much as I love the first and middle part of pregnancy, the end is just too dang difficult. I never considered how much more difficult it would be in the winter. Maya and I have been sticking close to home because the thought of getting us both bundled up to go out does not sound appealing. Poor Maya has been watching so many movies lately so I can just relax and also do some organizing before the baby comes. We are just so excited to have the baby come. His room is ready to go and a lot of friends have been nice enough to donate or loan clothes to us so we didn't really have to buy any clothes at all. Thank you!!

Anyway, it's been a long time since my last post so I'll do a quick recap...

Last Saturday my friends Kassie and Chandra threw me a baby shower and it was so much fun! We had it at IHOP, what a treat to get away for a couple of hours and just have girl time. This should be a monthly thing. I got a bouncer seat, lots of clothes, diapers, and gift cards. It was great! Here are some pictures of the homemade gifts that Kassie and Chandra made, I must say...they are pretty amazing!


Chandra MADE this adorable diaper bag. It actually kind of makes me want to learn how to sew.

Dangit, I don't have the other pictures on the laptop. I promise when I go downstairs I will upload the pictures on to the blog. Kassie made the baby a quilt and lots of burp cloths, they turned out SO cute. Thanks girls!!

In other news, we are finally finishing the basement! I am so excited about this. Nick was going to do all of the work by himself but then realized it wouldn't be finished for a long time. He is just too busy with work and school. So we are going to contract it out and they will probably start hanging the drywall as early as next week! Nick's dad will be coming out from CA tomorrow to help with some electrical and other last minute things we have to complete before the drywall goes up. Can't wait to have more living space and a place for our guests to stay when they visit. Not to mention all of the extra storage!!
