On Saturday, Josh was in the kitchen getting his bi-monthly haircut courtesy of daddy. I had Josh in my lap to help calm his nerves a bit. Maya was in the living room playing some imaginative game and decided to check in on us, saying, "So, guys, how's the haircut coming along for old Joshy Boy?" Nick and I looked at each other and started laughing our heads off! It was so cute and unexpected.
"Well, these blocks sure don't stay up well."
While talking about the fun things we are going to do outside when it heats up, "Well, Joshy is becoming large, like I am, so he'll be able to play with me."
She starts pretty much EVERY sentence with "well..."
Tara: "After dinner do you and Josh want to take a bath and play with your toys?"
Maya: "Well, prob'ly I'll need to have some dessert first."
We went to McDonald's with some friends for lunch and on the way home Maya asked me to name all of her friends that were there (5 kids). Well, (I guess we know where she gets "well" from) she asked me no less than 15 times and I finally just stopped answering her. She asked 5 more times with no response from me and then let out a loud sigh/grunt and said, "Mom! You are making me so f'ustrated!"
She loves to say, "What did you say mom?" after I say anything to her. So I have to repeat myself a lot.
She also likes to say, "Do you bemember that, mom?" instead of remember.
"You guys went to the show and Jessica came to visit me. But, guys? I was worried about you!" After we explained why the babysitter came over.
During Family Home Evening we were talking about how the Savior loves all of us, Maya chimed in and said, "Jesus loves me guys! And Wall-E loves all of us too." Later on I said, "Maya can you say the closing prayer for us?" She said, "Okay. Dear Heavenly Father...HEY! Mom, I'm Wall-E, not Maya!.....thankful for the rug, for the cupcakes, for the walls....etc." Somebody is obsessed with Wall-E!
We dropped off some books at the library and as we were driving past City Hall, where they have a seasonal water fountain display, Maya said, "Well, would you look at that. The water fountains are missing."
After having a pee pee accident on our bedroom floor Maya said, "I'm so sorry mommy, it was just an accident. But why did I just do that?" I threw her in the tub and put some fresh pj's on her and she said, "Mrs. Jumbo, I'm so sorry I broke your bedroom floor with my pee pee." ???? Lately I have been Mrs. Jumbo and she has been Dumbo but I don't get the 'broke your floor' part.
That's all for now. I'm sure she'll say something funny tomorrow!
On Thursday, Maya had her Valentine's Day party with her preschool. All of the parents got to come back at the end of class and have treats and watch the kids perform their songs. It was so cute! Here is Maya in her little V-day dress:
I'm glad they put her next to the other 'shorty' in class, that way, she doesn't look so tiny.
Showing off her Valentine's. I think she has at least 2 'admirers' in class...good thing she is still oblivious to that stuff.
Our pretty little girl
Valentine's Day is never a big deal at our house but this year Nick and I decided to get a "joint gift." We've had the same down comforter since 2002 so we got a new one at IKEA and a duvet cover and then Nick put the head board back up! Our bed looks so comfy and nice now. The kids each got a few Dollar Tree gifts and Wall-E to share. (Bad idea, this show is driving me crazy!) We had a great weekend.

Too funny. I am so looking forward to When Luke starts talking and comes up with silly things to say. Kids really come up with some crazy things. I love it. She looks so gorgeous... no surprise she has some admirers in her class. lol
