Halloween Weekend

Wow, it seems like Halloween was so long ago. On Friday night we carved a pumpkin...Maya was so excited all day, but when it came to carving or cleaning the pumpkin, she wanted nothing to do with it. She liked putting the candle inside!

This was after I asked her to help clean out the pumpkin.

On Saturday night we went to our church's Trunk or Treat party. Josh wouldn't wear all of his costume so he didn't look much like Dracula, but that's okay. I did get a couple of pictures beforehand.

J starting to meltdown a little bit.

"Thanks for taking off the cape mom! I'm much happier now!"

At least I got one picture of him smiling!

Nick looked really hot for the party :) A lot of people didn't even recognize him!

It was fun to see Nick get into the spirit of Halloween this year. Normally he doesn't even like to pass out candy! He passed out all of the candy at the trunk or treat and I took the kids around to get their treats.

We were talking with some friends after the party and all of a sudden I realized Maya wasn't around. I looked behind me and she was sitting in her car seat with a few candies. The look on her face was pure happiness! She doesn't get candy that often...and she NEVER has it late at night. Good thing this only happens once a year!

On Halloween we went to a few houses and Maya loved it. Last year she still needed some help, but this year she was a pro! When we got home she put all of her treats on the carpet and started categorizing everything into little piles. I wasn't paying much attention to what she was saying while she organized but then I noticed a pile of non-chocolate items and heard her say, "there's another one Joshy can have." (we didn't have him go trick or treating.) Just thinking about this sweet moment makes me tear up. I was so proud of her to think of Josh as he struggles with his milk allergy. She is always concerned that he will get sick, and even got mad at the Costco lady when she told us there was no milk/egg product in their churros but then J had a reaction to one. She is a great sister and I know she loves her brother!!
