My Bday/Weekend

My birthday was this past Tuesday but Nick and the kids helped me celebrate all weekend! It was great! I got Rock Band from them, so obviously we spent all weekend ROCKING OUT! Maya and I both like the drums, so we have to take turns, and Nick kicks butt on the guitar. This has been a fun family activity for us! I see lots more rockin' in our future....

My actual birthday was a different story. It started off just fine with breakfast, and Maya even offered to wash the dishes for me. It was cute because there were still bubbles on the plates and cups but she decided to dry them off and put them away anyway. At least she is trying!




This is where the day took a turn for the worse - my kids were soooooo cranky, and were literally fighting ALL DAY LONG. I finally called Nick at 4pm to complain and gripe. He felt bad and asked me to hold on a little bit longer because he only had one more hour to go. I gave the kids a bath and all of a sudden I heard a knock on the door...


I love my husband! He hasn't sent me flowers in a long time so these were greatly appreciated on such a stressful day!!

That night we went to a goodbye dinner for a good friend who is moving away this weekend. It was sad to say goodbye! Nick offered to watch the kids for me afterwards and I enjoyed an hour and a half of shopping and silence at Kohl's.

I really did have a nice day...I am a mom, and I understand that some days are really quite good, but other days just plain stink! I love J and M so much though and I love being their mommy.

Thanks everyone for the calls, emails, cards, presents, etc. I felt sooo loved!
