Allergist Appointment

Today I took Josh to the allergist for his 1 year check up. We were hoping that there was at least a little progress with his milk allergy, but unfortunately nothing has changed since last year. The allergy is still considered very severe. I am usually pretty upbeat about his allergy and try to look at the positives, but I admit, I am/was very discouraged about the whole thing. I hate that he has to deal with this and that at every meal we have to be super cautious to make sure he doesn't have any reactions. I'm also very concerned that since he will be starting preschool in the Fall I won't have control over what he touches/tastes. I try not to be a control freak but his reactions are so bad that we try to avoid them at all costs. Anyway, my mom made a good point, at least the allergy hasn't gotten WORSE. That's a good way to look at it. In a way, nothing has really changed for us, which is good because we have become professionals when it comes to feeding him! We'll see how things go over the next few years, the doctor doesn't want us to come back for another two years at this point. Here's what Josh thought of the allergist office/prick test. Poor kid.
