Last week of school

Maya had such a great school year. She was very emotional over the last few days of the year. I remember feeling that way too when the year came to an end....not wanting to say goodbye to teachers and friends and the uncertainty of a new grade. She loved her teacher and has learned so much from her. I was very skeptical of full day Kindergarten, but we're happy with how far Maya has progressed and look forward to her starting first grade. She is doing great with reading, math, spelling, and she really loves learning about science and the solar system.

I volunteered at the school's field day and was put in charge of volleyball. Yowza! It was the only activity set up indoors and the kids were getting hot outside so they kept coming into the gym in huge groups. It was very overwhelming! I think we had 60 kids at one time trying to play a game together. It was a mess. I finally got my act together and figured out a good system and I think everyone had a good time. I was exhausted after we finished and my voice was nearly gone from all of the screaming I had to do. Overall, it was a fun experience and it was great to see Maya with her little friends.

We're excited that the summer is here and we don't have to rush out every morning! It's been nice.
