Today my friend, Maren, is coming into town to stay with us. She called me last weekend and asked if we'd be in town and if she could stay with us for 2 nights. She is going to a concert in Grand Rapids, which is about 2 hours away from where we live. It sounds like it's going to be a crazy weekend for her! She will get here tonight (Friday), drive out to GR tomorrow and stay in a hotel overnight, then drive back to Livonia on Sunday and spend the night here again. She sounds really excited about the concert...some guy named Pete Yorn, I think. It doesn't sound much like a vacation to me! More like a headache! We are happy to have her here though.
We are taking Maya to get her 6-month pictures tomorrow, well, if they have any openings..I'm still waiting for them to open this morning to get an appointment. If it doesn't work out for tomorrow we will go next weekend, which means she'll be closer to her 6-month birthday. I just can't wait! She is at such a cute stage right now. When she is on her back she can grab her toes and she tries to eat them, it is the funniest thing. Last night she had home-made green beans for the first time and boy was she letting some stinkers!!!!!!! They were the worst smelling ones ever. But it was funny, nonetheless. She is still a good little sleeper. Last night was one of the best ever; 7:30 pm - 4:30, then she ate and slept until 7:45!
Nick got a bonus!!!! YAY! Now we are waiting to find out if he'll get promoted. I hope so because I really want a sewing machine. :) I found a really good one on overstock.com and of course the $2.95 shipping makes it all the more tempting. Anyway, I am really proud of Nick, he has been working so hard and you can tell his managers really value him on their team.
