We had such a great weekend with the Giordano's, so great that they stayed an extra day...well not by choice, the weather was really bad on Monday so they stayed until Tuesday morning. Their flight was supposed to come in Friday afternoon around 4:00 pm, so Nick was going to pick them up after work. Well, I got a call that their flight had been delayed so they wouldn't be in until 6:30. That meant that the 3 of us got to pile in the car and meet them at the airport. They were so happy to see Maya and Gramma Pat said that she looks doubled in size since the last time she saw her in November. That night they requested Jet's pizza, of course! It's always a favorite whenever we have family visit. It is deep dish and, oh, so good. Saturday Pat, myself, and Lynnie (Maya) went shopping for groceries and then we went to BabiesRUs.We had a blast! We got Maya her very first bathing suit, a cover-up, 3 pairs of jammies, socks, and a new dress for her 6-month pictures. Scott and Nick went to Best Buy to get a microphone for our computer, a new phone with an extra handset, and something for their computer back home. We just have one phone and it has to stay hooked up to the computer (We have vonage), which is now downstairs, so they were surprised to see me running down the stairs to get the phone and insisted on getting us a new one with 2 handsets. Okay! They also hooked up the microphone so you can talk to people over the Internet using Skype's website, the best part is it's FREE! They always talk to Nick's sister, Jenna, who is in Italy for 6 months, over Skype. Missy, we should set you guys up on that also, you just need a microphone.
Anyway, then Saturday night we got our very first babysitter for Maya! I was worried about it all day. Luckily everything went according to plan, I gave her a bottle around 7:20 PM, she fell asleep and stayed asleep while the sitter was there. Dinner was really good; I had ribs, a salad, coleslaw, & beans. Nick had steak and potatoes, his dad had steak that had a blue cheese crust on it, and Pat had prime rib...medium-RARE!! It was the most disgusting thing ever! But she says it tastes more sweet when it's not over-cooked. It looked bloody to me.
When we got home I had these sharp pains in my stomach, I spent the better part of the night in the bathroom. Then to make matters worse, once I felt better I couldn't fall asleep! I just sat there in bed and waited. Maya woke up to eat around 3 AM, which is fine, but she wanted to get up for the day at 6!!!! Needless to say, I ended up sleeping through church the next morning.
I feel better now and I'm just happy we were able to enjoy our company. The rest of the time we just watched movies and ate, ate, ate. We had fondue one night and salmon another, YUM.
