Our week with the Murray's

On Tuesday night Nick's mom and little brother, Michael, flew to Michigan to come stay with us. We were so happy and excited to see them! We had so many different ideas of things we could do and show them but little did we know what our week would turn in to! Maya had been fighting a cold or teething since the night of my birthday and I thought any day she would get her tooth and I'd have my happy girl back. Well, that hasn't happened yet. In fact she has gotten much worse and Michael was sick too. On Wednesday he spent the day sitting on the couch with his barf bucket after he threw up his banana. Here he is:

That same day I took Maya to the doctor because she had gotten much worse. Every time she sneezed snot would cover her face. It was pretty nasty. We went through a lot of tissues this past month. The doctor was no help whatsoever. I was ticked off that I had to pay a $20 copay and all she told me to do was give her Benadryl. I am now on the search of a new doctor, if any of you have recommendations let me know.

Thursday was a lot of fun. Michael was still pretty sick and so was Maya but they were both pleasant to be around. Gramma V and Nick did all the cooking while Michael and I played Uno and watched after Maya. It was great to take another year off from cooking since Gramma Giordano was here last year and cooked for all of us. Here are some pictures of V and Nick preparing our fabulous Thanksgiving dinner:

He makes good turkeys and babies :)

That night Maya FINALLY slept through the night which was surprising because of all the noise coming from poor Michael! He was in the bathtub throwing up and had a very bad case of diarrhea, sorry if too much info but you get the jist. You should hear this kid throw up! Nick and I couldn't help but laugh because of how loud and dramatic it was! I could just picture gallons of puke all over the bathroom but it wasn't that bad at all. The next day we convinced Michael that Depends underwear were "cool" after he went through most of his underwear. The next night it was little Maya's turn. She thew up all over her crib and then she did it all over me while I was trying to get her back to sleep. That night she was up for about 4 hours, Nick decided to take her for a 2 hour drive so she could fall asleep in the car and so the rest of us could get some sleep. He is so sweet and thoughtful. Maya still has a cold but it seems to be getting better . She is sleeping now and getting the rest she needs.

The best part of the whole visit was watching Michael interact with Maya. You can tell they love each other so much already and have a very special connection. I will post some more pictures of them in the slideshow. I also got a kick out of hearing the things Michael would come up with. After raking the leaves with Nick for about 2 hours he came inside for a break and told me that his favorite "subject" is raking leaves. It was so adorable. I love that little guy.

The Murray's went home on Monday and although our week wasn't exactly what we expected we still love them and love that we were able to spend some time with them. V, thanks for watching Maya for us so Nick and I could go on a date!

Here are some more pictures. Hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving!

I knew Maya was sick but I had no idea you had other sickies in your house too! And weren't you sick too!? What a stress! I'm glad you were able to make the best of it and still have a fun Thanksgiving. I hope everyone feels better soon.
