Christmas

Our Christmas was so nice! Nick was off for about 12 days so Maya is now having a hard time getting used to him being away at work. I think Nick is finding it difficult to adjust as well.

Everyone was so generous this year so Nick and I were able to get some things we really needed and wanted. I got this pantry for our kitchen! Nick is going to paint it to match our other cabinets. That is just the temporary space for it. You can see the second picture to see where we're going to install it. We'll obviously have to remove the upper cabinet. I am already using the pantry for storage and I love it!!

I also got this little bookshelf from Target. I love that store!

My mother-in-law sent me an Eddie Bauer gift card and I have been shopping away! I LOVE that store and found a great Outlet at the mall. I have saved so much by going that route.

Nick purchased a nice jacket and laptop bag at REI with his money. I love the new laptop he got for school! When he doesn't take it to work I always use it during the day.

Maya was spoiled, of course! I can't expect any different because she is the only grandchild on Nick's dad's side. She got a new table and chairs, a bookshelf, cabbage patch doll, books, clothes and much more. Thank you everyone for being so thoughtful! We picked up this little chair for her and she loves to read her books in it but she especially loves watching the Disney channel. She has turned into a TV Junkie, we even caught her turning the TV on by herself to watch it! I feel guilty letting her but sometimes I need to get stuff done or I just need a break! Look how cute she is:

She is STILL sick! You can see her snuggling with her bear.

Maya loves being read to. She will go into her room and pick out a book then she'll bring it into the living room and we'll read it. Once we finish she jumps up and goes to pick out another one. This could go on ALL day long! I'm glad she likes books so much. She also loves her new Cabbage Patch doll and feeding her. I often find her sitting on the floor in her bedroom with the doll in her lap attempting to feed the baby with this little bottle it came with. Sometimes the bottle is stuck in the doll's ear or eye but she's trying and it's so cute!

Over the past month Maya has really gotten into dancing. She got this little kitchen from Gramma V and when you press the blender button a song will come on. She just dances away! These last 2 weeks of Primary have been especially fun because she dances whenever the piano starts. I love it! She is certainly growing up too fast and really starting to grasp onto things. I can already see that she is a sweet yet fiesty little thing! She loves saying "Hi" to anyone that will talk to her...this has become my new favorite thing. Yesterday we went to the store and the stern-faced cashier wasn't paying any attention to little Maya. Well, after staring up at her for a couple of minutes Maya finally blurts out, "Hiiiiiya" and the cashier totally melted! I love that she can bring happiness to so many others.

Well, I hope everyone had a great holiday! We missed you all and hope to be spending the Christmas season with our families next year. I will add a slide show from Christmas when I have some more time.

I love that little picture of her and her bear in the chair. She looks like a little couch potatoe.

Tara! Holy smokes! I am so happy you found my blog and so happy that I found yours and consequently spent hours blog hopping and finding many old friends. First off your daughter is so beautiful! Secondly, how fun that you are living in Michigan! We lived in Minnesota for a year and loved it (well, the winter weather was a bit much...). Anyway, it was fun to catch up with you and your family! I will definitley be back to see what you guys are up to!
