Gramma's Visit and Playing in the Snow

We had so much fun with my mom in town! It's always hard to say goodbye to her, especially hard not knowing when I'll see her again. The last couple of times she visited we always wished for more time together so this time we planned a really long visit. She was here for almost 2 whole weeks. She and Maya got along really well and it only took a day or two for M to completely warm up to her. We didn't do much while my mom was here, which was really nice actually. We never feel like we need to entertain her 24/7 or have something going on constantly. She just likes to be together. We did do some shopping and, as usual, Maya was spoiled rotten. She got two little swimming suits for this summer, she really liked modeling this little red one.

Most nights we either cooked or got take-out. Maya can't sit very long in a restaurant so we only ventured out once. We decided to try the new Chili's they just built in Livonia. It was nice and loud, which I appreciated because Maya could be noisy and no one really noticed. Here are some pics.

Thank you for a wonderful visit Gramma!

Last night we received a couple inches of snow. Not a big deal. However, we also received ice cold rain right BEFORE the snow storm. I thought I'd be helpful and go outside this morning to shovel the driveway and the sidewalks but gave up after 45 minutes because it was so difficult to make any progress. I don't mind shoveling the soft, fluffy kind. This snow was heavy and wet and all icy underneath! So instead of working, Maya and I played outside for a little while. She was all suited up and ready to go. It was so much fun watching her play and just try to navigate through the snow. I can't remember how many times she fell in the stuff! It was so cute. She never cried or whined though, I was very impressed.
