President Gordon B. Hinckley
While I was deeply saddened by the loss of our sweet prophet, President Gordon B. Hinckley, I was comforted in knowing that he had returned to his cute little wife. I'm sure the reunion was remarkable. I just read on LDS.org that the new president will be President Thomas S. Monson. Yeah, I'm a little behind the times. I assumed it would be him but I guess he was officially called last week. Here is the most exciting part- the new president of our church is my third cousin! I met him a couple of times and it was so amazing! He gave my sister, Brenda, a blessing right before she passed. He is such a special person and it was so neat that he'd take the time to bless her. He also came to pay his respects at my Great-Aunt Afton's funeral (his first cousin). When we went to her gravesite he took so much time telling stories about growing up with his cousin, he didn't rush it at all and I can only imagine how busy he is. It is so hard to think about losing President Hinckley, he will be missed. I am, however, excited that President Monson has been called as our prophet.
