Last night was really rough, I mean REALLY rough for us. Ever since we got back from California on Saturday Maya has been sick and extremely whiny, clingy, etc. etc. On Tuesday morning I entered her room only to be struck with the smell, you probably know what I'm talking about. That sour vomit smell. Yup, she threw up all over her bed and still managed to sleep the whole night without making a peep. We felt really bad that she didn't wake us up. Well, last night was much different. She woke up at 2:30 AM and didn't go back to sleep for a couple of hours, the poor little thing was just screaming her guts out which resulted in some more vomit. Luckily I was prepared and had a towel on my lap. We finally got her back to sleep after singing about a hundred Primary songs to her.
Have any of you mothers ever been so worked up after a night like this that when your little one is finally fast asleep YOU can't relax and sleep? That's what happened to me and I didn't officially sleep again until 6:15 or so. Those of you residing in Michigan know that we received about 5-6inches of snow last night....enter my neighbor. I awaken to the horrific sound of his super loud snow blower at what time, you ask?? 6:45 AM. Poor Nick was so embarrassed when I opened our bedroom window (which is about one foot away from his driveway) and tried to get his attention but the snow blower was too loud and he didn't hear me. N finally said to just shut the window because I was going to wake up Maya. This isn't the first time this has happened, people. I have counted at least 3 times where this has been done before 7 AM. It's just too early, darnit! I am going to write a letter, not a mean one, just so they know of my disapproval. (Like that's worth anything!) They are nice people, just early birds apparently!
On a more positive note, someone shoveled our sidewalks and part of our driveway for us while we were out of town and it was such a wonderful surprise when we returned. We truly appreciated it and are still trying to find out who did it.
In other Maya news, I trimmed her hair before we left as it was turning into a mullet again and I am so proud of my haircutting skills! She has a cute little bob haircut now. She is doing great learning sign language and doesn't seem to get AS frustrated with me when I don't know what she is asking for. She can sign "more" and is working on "drink" and "thank you". I should have done this a long time ago but just never did, it makes life a little easier.
I am working on a California post and putting pictures together but this negative post will have to do for now. I try not to do it very often but had to let off some steam...I think it helped a little. Now I will go shovel my life away outside and I'll be wishing for a snow blower the whole time!

Maybe your next door neighbor did your walks while you were gone. We are all starting to feel better, too bad you guys are all getting sick. That's what is nice about only having one. It is pretty hard to try to help two when they are both sick.
I doubt it, he's never done it before :( I'm glad you guys are starting to feel better. It would be hard to have two sickies - but nice that they can actually tell you what's wrong with them. T
We've got that nasty flu again! I'm so sorry your going through it, they say that it's March but waking up this morning made it hard to believe! I hope she gets better soon!
Poor Maya! Nights like that are rough on everyone. And what a wake up greeting! Maybe you can just tell your neighbor to do what Kelly does - just drive over it and make your wife shovel later in the day. ;)
And never feel bad about venting on your blog. I think we don't do that enough sometimes. Motherhood isn't always happiness and cuteness. It's nice to know others struggle as well.
That is so sad that Maya is sick! A and G got sicker than ever when we got back from our trip as well. It's rough having sick kids...I can see where the negativity came from ! =)
