What a night...

Last night we experienced something really scary. We decided to eat out so we got Maya ready to go in her little coat and started to leave. We usually go out the back door because we have a detached garage so our cars are back there. Well, Nick and I have always hated that landing because it is really narrow and the staircase to the basement is right there. It's way dangerous. We are always very careful with Maya around the stairs because she is still working on her coordination and going down the stairs has always been a challenge. She seems to do really well on carpeted stairs but our stairs are linoleum. Anyway, you probably have guessed what happened by now. Nick turned around to pick M up and carry her outside when all of a sudden we see this little pink blur rolling down the stairs. All three of us were screaming. Nick ran down right behind her and I stood there in shock as I saw my baby girl smacking into each and every stair. I felt so helpless. I wanted to just stretch out and grab her.

We went down and picked her up and then brought her to the bathroom to exam her before deciding we needed to take her to Urgent Care. Her lip was the only thing that looked harmed, it had a huge split on it and we were worried that she'd need stitches. After getting her cleaned up and calmed down Maya seemed back to herself, she was pretty resilient! We still felt the need to take her in and get checked out though. I sat in the back seat with her and fed her a little snack because she was really hungry. I kept breaking down in tears thinking about what had just happened and for feeling so terrible for my little girl. I was trying to tell Nick something and my voice kept breaking up because I was crying and Maya said, "No, no, Mama. Stop it." I guess she didn't like to hear me cry.

She is fine and didn't need any stitches! Afterwards we asked her what she wanted for dinner and she asked for "Pie-zza" so we went and got some for her and a slurpee too. We are so thankful for her, I know it could've been a lot worse. I'm so glad she had her huge puffy coat on, I think it saved her some more bruises and cuts. We love her so much!

Here are some recent pictures of her:

Her fascination with stuffed animals continues!

It snowed on Sunday and all day Maya kept asking about it. So Nick got her all bundled up and they went outide and played while I made dinner. She loved it and didn't seem to mind being cold at all! She must get that from Nick because I hate being cold. Of course she had to take that ugly cat outside with her.

Maya has been working on her counting and is up to 11 now. Not sure if she is behind, average, or what but we are pretty proud of her. Here is a video of it.

That is so sad. I can picture it in my mind. She is so funny. The kids once again watched the latest video over and over again. We can't wait for you all to come out again. I am glad you figured something out for Primary Birthdays. I love Oriental trading...I have a $10 coupon if you need to use it. I just put in a big order, so I wont need it.
