Grateful

So, we found out today that Nick is SAFE from the most recent round of layoffs at his company!! The last we heard before the long weekend was that things weren't looking good and so we were trying to see how we could make things work while he attended school full-time. For the time being we can rest easy and just focus on our family and our baby getting here safely. (& a lot more affordable since we'll still have insurance!) He will continue going to school part-time at night and work full time during the day. We feel so grateful but definitely sad for those that lost their jobs.

In Maya news, she had a bit of the flu for about 5 hours last night and it was awful. We just sat on the couch together and she would start moaning and then she'd say, "UH OH Mama, more yuckies..." and then she'd throw up in a bucket. It was the saddest thing ever. I'm so happy it only lasted one night.

She has really been funny with the sayings she comes up with, here are a few:

I asked her if she could find something in her room and she came out and said, "I can't find it sweetheart". Oh boy, did that melt my heart!! I just knelt down (best I could with this ever growing belly) and snuggled her as long as she would let me.

She likes the little animated show, "Ratatouille". She calls it the Mousy Show because it has mice in it. Anyway, tonight I was trying to start it up and it was taking forever so I got impatient and said, "Come on!!!" and she copied me and said, "Come on Mousy Show, for crying out loud!"

Whenever I give her a cup of water WITHOUT a lid on it she thinks it tastes so much better. She'll have a drink and then she'll say, "It's allicious" (delicious)

Because she was so sick last night she didn't have any dinner. I knew she would wake up early because she'd be pretty hungry so she got up at 6 and came into our room (I do miss her crib on days like this!) and got in bed with us. The kitties were being noisy in the bathroom so she went to check it out and came back after yelling at them, "Pimpen...Nelpy, you kitties stop it!" Then she came to the side of the bed and sighed as if she were so annoyed with them and said, "Stupid kitty cats". I had a hard time not laughing but had to tell her that "Stupid" is not a nice word to use and we shouldn't say that.

Along with "Sweetheart" she has also been calling us "Honey" and "Sweetie" it is the cutest thing ever!

When she's trying to get away with something she'll say, "How 'bout..." So today she was in the bath and I already refilled the tub twice with warm water but she kept asking for more water. I told her no then she put her finger on her lip like she was thinking about something and said, "How 'bout mo'e hot water?" She also does this at night when we are trying to get her to bed, she'll say, "How 'bout one more book?"

We love her!

The ultrasound for the baby went well last week. He is getting so big and it's becoming pretty difficult to move around and do normal every day things. The Ultrasound Technician said that the baby is about 4 pounds 6 ounces already. We are so excited!!

Such great news about not getting laid off... what a relief.
I love the Maya stories... too cute... I just can't wait until our little boy starts giving us stories like that to write home about. Seems to make all this sickness to get him here so worth while. :D
