Our weekend and getting crafty!

Josh got a cold again last week and by Thursday night was really breathing hard, even while just resting and not moving a muscle. So that night while Nick was at school I gave him a few breathing treatments and tried to get him to bed. He was still retracting but fell asleep so we tried to get some rest too. He woke up twice through the night and couldn't breath very well so we gave him 2 more treatments. He woke up again at 5:30 sounding worse than ever so I took off for the emergency room. Nick was able to stay home from work that day to take care of Maya. JB and I were in the ER from 6-11:30am trying to get his breathing back on track but nothing was working for him so the doctor on-call decided he would be admitted until he was doing better. Luckily his chest Xray was clear and the RSV swab came back negative.

Josh was super tired but couldn't sleep for long stretches of time because the medical people kept coming in to check on him. Poor guy was so sleepy. Finally our room was ready in the peds department of the hospital so this guy came in our room to tell us he was going to move us over. I thought I'd just need to pick up J and take him there but we had to transfer him in the ER bed. LOL, it was the cutest/saddest thing I have ever seen! Such a tiny guy sitting in a huge ER bed with the side rails up and this little sad face looking around. All of the nurses made a big deal out of him as we walked by, which he liked a lot. Here he is in his new hospital crib and gown:

We were there for just under 2 days but it seemed like an eternity! The nurses and doctors were great but it was just so uncomfortable there. I just wanted to be home with my baby, I think this is when I hit an all time low. I am grateful to have such an awesome husband! He is very supportive and was so willing to do whatever I needed him to do. I love him so much.

Josh is home and sleeping pretty good at night - something he desperately needed. We actually have to wake him up at night to make sure he gets at least one breathing treatment in. He still has an awful cough but that may last a few more weeks. He has been diagnosed with pre-asthma/Bronchiolitis and now we just need to really make sure to keep him away from the things that trigger his asthma. He has been bugging Maya lately and knows exactly how to push her buttons (which, really, isn't that hard to do) so that seems to be a good sign that he's on the road to recovery.

Sorry if this is really long! I want to record it for our own personal reasons.

MOVING ON....

As mentioned in the post title, I am still enjoying craft time! I have made a few more changing pads for friends. This one is for you, Chandra:

Maya got some polka-dot capris and another pair of purple paisley ones.

A cute sundress....It was supposed to be a "60 minute" dress but after all of the mistakes I made and repaired, Nick called it a 60 hour dress.

And, finally, we made a few little flower bows. They were really easy, thanks to my glue gun.

I'm so impressed by all your sewing talents! What cute clothes! Although, seriously, someone can make an entire dress in 60 minutes?! Be proud of that dress - 60 hours or not.

Glad the little man is doing better. Your sewing and the bows look great. I need to make some new bows for Ellie, do you have a website you got a pattern from?
