Tonight as we were planting some flowers and plants in our front yard I thought, "my life is good." There are a few things I wanted to post so I will remember them when things aren't quite as good.

The kids are growing up so fast, it makes me sad but thankful that I get to be their mom and watch them advance in their little lives. Maya is constantly saying something that makes us laugh OR pull our hair out! Here are a few gems:

"Gramma? (When Gramma Pat was visiting) Emily (another girl at school) said that I am not the fairest of them all! And I AM the fairest of them all."

She was supposed to be in the backyard with Nick but she snuck to the front. I was feeding Josh in the dining room and happened to glance out the front window to see M playing on the grass. I poked my head out to talk with her and this was the conversation we had:
T - Maya you aren't supposed to be in the front yard by yourself. It's too dangerous.
M - Why?
T - Someone might drive by and snatch you up! Why don't you go in the back with dad?
M - Well, it's okay mama. I will be just fine in the front. Why don't you go inside and shut the door. Maybe make us a little dinner and don't look outside anymore? How about that?

My sister has been really sick and was in the hospital for quite a few weeks. I would try and call every few days to check in and see how she was doing. One day I asked Maya if she wanted to talk to Aunt Missy because she was sick and in the hospital. I explained that she might help her aunt feel better if she would just talk to her. Maya's response was pretty typical Maya, she thought deeply for a few seconds then said, "Well, I can't help her because I'm not a doctor." Always over-analyzing things!

The cutest thing she did this week was sing a Lady Gaga song we heard on the radio. I know, real great mom, only quality music around these parts. Regardless, it was so funny! She was playing in the living room and all of a sudden I hear this tiny voice, "Sorry I did not call you...I'm kinda busy. I'm kinda busy. Sorry I did not call you...I'm kinda busy." Hilarous.

Preschool is almost out for the year and I haven't broken the news to her yet. Not sure how she will accept that she's going to have new teachers and a new classroom next year. She has loved class this year! It has been a great experience for all of us. She had an ice cream social at the park today and will have a zoo day on Thursday.

Josh is doing great and hasn't been sick for close to a month! (Knock on wood) Now that he is feeling better he seems to be a little more excited and interested in progressing physically and keeping up with his sister. He's pulling himself up and will stand for a few minutes but doesn't understand how to get down. The other day he surprised me by climbing up half of the stairs before I realized he was doing it. It was wonderful!

He loves to babble and is already "talking" my ear off. His favorite words are: Daddy, Dada, Hi Dad, Mama, 'aya (for Maya), M'ow (for meow), sinsu(thank you), bye bye, uh-oh, and did I mention dad? He LOVES his dad! There are a few more but I can't remember now. He also loves to growl at you and will laugh sporatically. He is usually on the floor playing with something or trying to figure a toy out and will break out in laughter. It's really funny. The other day I went to find him and he was in his room trying to get his feet in his shoes. He is a little smarty.

I survived my first week of class. I am taking Sociology and am learning a ton already. The biggest challenge has been to find the time to read all of the required text, studies, essays, etc. and to actually soak it in. I am convinced that my brain has turned into mush these past few years so it's been nice to use it again :) I am really enjoying it.

Maya is SOOO stinking hilarious... "Why don't you go inside, shut the door and make us some dinner.. " LOL...listen to that little miss know it all. LOL. :D
I can't believe how smart Josh is. Luke is so not interested in learning... he won't really 'play' with his toys and try to figure them out. He just throws everything around. He would never try to put his shoes on... he knows very well how to kick them off though. LOL. I am glad that he is walking, but I find myself frustrated at his lack of language skills, and that he has no desire to try to learn with his toys and books etc. We need to get our boys together to teach each other a few things. LOL they are so opposite.
