That night we went home and played a game that Gramma Debbie and Papa Stan sent called Elephun. It's fun to have a game that both of the kids can play with. The next morning we got out of bed at 9am, seriously these kids have been awesome with sleeping lately, and ate breakfast then got ready for the show. We got there nice and early so we had really good seats. The movie was cute - Nick was even laughing throughout the whole thing. Josh did good considering we had to sit for a really long time. About 45 minutes into the movie he got bored and tired and kept snuggling with me. I love doing things with my family!
That evening we decided to run to the mall so Nick could exchange sizes on a cool jacket he received from his dad and step-mom, and the kids each got to pick a new friend from Build-a-Bear. Maya chose a bunny and Josh picked out a cute puppy with some help from dad. Last year when we took Maya we went overboard and let her pick shoes and two outfits for her pet, so we were a little worried that she'd throw a fit when we told her she could only pick a shirt, but she was surprisingly sweet and okay with it. This is such a cute store - especially if your kids love stuffed animals like ours do. Maya has about 30 and J loves his little Eeyore baby that he sleeps with every night.
For New Years Eve we just stayed home and spent time together. Nick grilled some steaks for us and they were really yummy and HUGE! The kids went to bed at regular time but we had a "party" downstairs with balloons and blow horn toys. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I promised Maya on one of her vacation days that we'd go outside and play in the snow. I'm really bad about this because I hate being cold. We went out one afternoon and tried to build a snowman and have a snowball fight but the snow was too icy and as hard as a rock, so we resorted to making snow angels. Josh was happy sitting in the snow and didn't make a peep while I played with M girl. We found some little ice balls and threw those at each other which was a lot of fun until Maya decided to bring Josh into the action and threw one at his eye. Poor kid. Turns out my kids are wimps in the snow too so we only lasted about 20 minutes!
Right before being pelted in the face with an ice ball!
Nick is back to work, Maya to school 3 days a week, and swim one day, and Josh and I are busy at home and enjoying my time off before school starts up again tomorrow. I'm taking three class so, uh, it's been nice knowing all of you. :)Anyway, I have been trying some new dairy-free recipes for Josh from a few new cookbooks I got off of Amazon. Yesterday I made homemade granola bars and today I made some crackers. I was a little scared and hesitant to do them but they both turned out tasty. Josh was so cute waiting at the oven for the crackers to finish baking. Glad he likes them and my efforts weren't wasted!
"Cheese" crackers
I took a picture of the granola too but Nick said it looks like a baking dish full of barf so I won't post it. It is SOOOO good though.
Might be awhile until I post again so enjoy this ridiculously long update of our life! I'll post again when we get back from our family vacay to FLORIDA!!!!

They are so cute! I love them so much and miss you guys. I have two letters from Ellie that I need to send you.
How sweet of you to go through so much effort with new recipes for Josh. Hopefully he'll grow out of those allergies some day. Good luck with school and have fun in Florida!!
