Utah trip

(I will get some pictures up soon)

Our trip to Utah was great! I miss everyone already. The kids and I left about 4 days before Nick was able to leave work. It was nice to spend those extra days with the family and to get settled in. The kids are really turning into wonderful little travelers. Maya only woke up once in the middle of the night and Josh slept through the night the entire trip! My parents were so sweet and gave us the entire upstairs, including their master bedroom/bath. It was so convenient. Most of those early days were spent visiting, eating a lot, and letting the cousins hang out. One day we were able to take Maya to my sister Missy’s preschool because they were having a little Easter egg hunt. Josh was able to participate too. My niece Ellie helped him a lot because he was shy. That night we went back to Miss' house to decorate Easter eggs with my niece and nephew, Carson and Ellie. It was such a simple activity but it meant so much to me. We have missed out on so many holidays and it just felt so nice to be there with them.

When Nick got into town we were able to go and visit his mom, brother, and grandma. Uncle Michael had just finished up with surgery so it was nice to see him and catch up. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera. We also visited with Nick's family the next day because his little brother Alex was over and we haven't seen him for 4 years or so. I wish we could have spent more time with them but Michael ended up getting sick so we couldn't visit very much.

Easter was so much fun. I loved seeing all of the cousins together. Josh got along really well with my niece, Claire. They are only one month apart and are quite opposite. Claire is all over the place and has a more outgoing/adventurous personality while Josh usually sticks close to mom and dad, and is really reserved. They are both so sweet! Their personalities came out during the Easter egg hunt. Claire ran everywhere and got as many eggs as possible, while Josh strolled along and chose a few eggs here and there. Maya absolutely loved being with her cousins. We had lots of play dates and tried to fit in as much as possible. Maya was so sad as we pulled out of my parent's driveway. She said, "I'm really going to miss Grandma. We just had a great time together." Then as we got out of the car at the airport she said, "I'm going to miss Papa too. We didn't even get to wrestle very much." We're so grateful for all of our family members in Utah. We miss you and wish we lived closer so we could make more special memories.
