Preschool Graduation

I can't believe it's June! It seems like it went from winter to summer overnight, with no spring in-between. I am taking one class now and was planning on doing four over the summer but decided the timing just isn't working out. so nursing will have to wait. My kids are only going to be this little for a short period of time and I don't want to miss out on anything. On top of that, I cannot find the time to study, which is basically how I spend every night of the week, and it still doesn't seem to be enough. I'm just tired of it! I'll continue knocking one class down at a time and hopefully I will be finished with school by the time my kids are in high school!

Speaking of school, Maya's last day of preschool was today. I think she has mixed feelings about it because she has really started liking class over the past few months, but she is excited for the summer to be here as well. She has made a lot of really good friends this year and seems to think that every day she gets to have a playdate with a different friend. She is no longer satisfied with me as a friend...kinda sad, kinda nice. She continues to keep us on our toes with her gazillion questions a day and has also been quite sweet lately. She is definitely starting to grow up. I can't believe she is going to be 5 in September! The other day I told her she needed to stay little forever and her reply was, "MOM! I can't be little forever! I have to go to college soon." At least I have 13 more years with her as my "baby"...only 13??? Here are pictures of her 'graduation' today. It was really special because Nick was able to take a few hours off to spend time with us. The kids sang a few songs, had an ice cream sundae (at 10:45am!!!!), and then the teachers passed out little certificates for each of them. After her class ended we went to "Old McDonald's House" for lunch (Maya's pick) and she played for a little while. This little girl at the play area kept following Maya around, talking to her and trying to play with her. Maya finally came up to me and said, "Mom? That girl keeps saying my name is beautiful, but it's not!" She is definitely beautiful!

With her awesome preschool teachers.

Maya and her best friend, Zoe.

Before we left the school Nick and I gave Maya some flowers. Her face went all red and she got so excited! She kept thanking us for them. She loves flowers right now.

Lunch

Congrats my little graduate! Only one more year in pre-K and she will be off to a real 'big girl' school. We love you Maya!

Josh is doing really well. He is all over the place and has been talking a lot lately. I've shared this with a few of you already but I wanted to put it on our blog too :) We are constantly telling Josh that he needs to stop being mean and that he should be nice. Well, the other day in the car he did something naughty and I said, "Josh be nice!" He glared at me and said, "I mean, not nice. HA HA HA!" The laughing part sounded like an evil laugh! I think he picked that up from Maya, she does that when she is doing something sneaky. He is so funny but can definitely be "mean". I know it's hard to believe because most of the time he is so mellow and calm, but at home he can be a stinker.

Waiting for Maya's class to finish.
