Spree

The last week of June we always go to this little "Spree" that the city puts on. This year the weather was crazy! We decided to go Friday night and it ended up being perfect. The kids went on a lot of rides and we ran into friends from church and school. We bought two wristbands from a friend so that the kids could ride on whatever they wanted to but found out when we got there that Josh was too short to use the wristband. The employees were happy to take his very expensive tickets we had to buy instead though. It ended up working out fine because Nick used the wristband and went on a bunch of rides with Maya.

Ready to go!

We saw Maya's school friend, Noah and his little sister Lila. They decided to ride the boat ride together. So adorable!

You'd think they would have the rides at the carnival down to a science, but most of them start with such a jolt that the younger kids end up crying throughout the entire ride! That was the case on this ride. Josh got so scared that he ended up crying until Maya, the brave big sister, put her arm around him and kept it there the ENTIRE ride. What sweet kids. I ended up getting a little teary eyed.

Daddy joined in on the fun later on. He talked Maya into going on the caterpillar rollercoaster! I was very proud of her. She also loved this big slide.

This was by far my favorite part of the night! Josh went on this little car ride and was so happy and excited, he thought he was really driving the car. He wouldn't look at us and wave because he was concentrating so hard. Loved that!

Later on we met up with my friend Tiffany and her kids. They all had fun going on different rides together.

This is Maya with another friend from school, Lauren. They will be in the same class next year. Such beautiful and fun girls!

J wasn't too bummed about missing out on the rides because he had full reign of the cotton candy. Little monster, I think he ate about 3/4 of the bag!

We had a great time! The Spree always lands on our anniversary, so that's basically how we celebrated. The next night we had a very fancy dinner at Leo's Coney Island with the kids. :) It has been a great 8 years with my man! I can't believe it's been that long. I guess we're getting old.
