What an amazing surprise!

We started off the day yesterday by heading to Josh's allergist appointment. I wasn't feeling positive that there would be a change in his milk/egg allergy because at his last appointment the doctor said we could expect him to be about 5 before he outgrows them. I think Josh remembered our last visit. After we got into the office he immediately said, "go bye bye mommy? Go bye bye?" Poor little guy. Thankfully, we only needed them to do the scratch test on 2 different spots of his back. If you aren't familiar with the scratch/prick test, they prick the skin and then place a few drops of the allergen there. I noticed right away that the egg sample was not showing up and the milk sample was very small. The doctor decided to try some fresh milk (I guess they used some type of manufactured stuff) and that kind showed a reaction on his back. So, the final result was his egg allergy is GONE, and his milk allergy is still present but has reduced by 50% from his last appointment! I need to slowly introduce eggs and make sure he's okay with them. We meet with the allergist again in a year and hopefully we'll be done with the milk allergy too!

Maya was surprisingly excited and happy with Josh's progress. She kept asking about what different things we could make now that he can have eggs. Muffins, french toast, waffles, pancakes....made with eggs!?!? Amazing. This morning we tried waffles. He wolfed them down and has been fine all day - no reaction at all. This is truly such a blessing and answer to our prayers.
