Saturday - Party

Maya decided she wanted a Hello Kitty party this year. When I was searching online to find some games I found some pretty cute ideas for the party. We had a "Kitty Adoption Center", each girl got to choose one kitty, one cat carrier to decorate, and a blanket. Then they went to the table to decorate their boxes with stickers, markers, and other embellishments. Fun and simple.

Before the party started, Maya and one of her BF's Laura were playing together. I told Maya I wanted to get a picture of her by the balloons and the next thing I knew Laura was posing too. They are so cute together. Glad she has such good friends.

Laura also played photographer for us while we waited for the guests to arrive.

We bought Maya some of those scented markers that smell like different foods. It totally took me back to when I was younger. The girls loved them too, and some had different colors on their noses to prove it! It was so cute.

Nick was in charge of the pinata. Each of the girls, and Josh, got two turns, then when it wouldn't break, they each got to pull a string to get the candy and toys out. We had them fill up their cat carriers with their treats.

After eating cake and ice cream, we opened presents and played some games outside...thank goodness for the nice weather! They really liked playing Mr. Fox with Nick, and we also played Red Rover, Red Rover.

It was a great party! Her parties seems to be getting smaller and smaller each year. I was exhausted after everyone left! Maybe next year she can pick 2 friends...

That night we went to an early dinner at Macaroni Grill. The kids really do well in restaurants, so we had a nice time out.

Josh didn't have a nap all day and was still so sweet and content all day. He is such a good kid!

Me and my girl

On Sunday the Primary did their program in Sacrament meeting. Maya refused to do her part the last few weeks when they'd practice, but was in a very good mood on Sunday and decided to get up there to say her lines. I was so happy! After church we all had a rest (minus Maya, she never rests), then we went outside to play a little. Maya was running in the front yard while holding on to her balloons. After about 20 minutes she let go on accident and they flew up to the sky. You would have thought she witnessed someone getting hit by a car, her scream was so loud and dramatic. I felt terrible though because she was genuinely SO sad and upset. She cheered up a few minutes later.

We had a great weekend celebrating! Birthdays are so fun.
