Middle of October already!?!

Since school started this fall, time has been flying by! I think it's because Maya goes to school every day versus every other day. Anyway, things are great, but really busy. I am taking 2 classes (English 102 and Nutrition), which keeps my brain going but I struggle with making time for homework. When the kids go to bed I want to have "my time" but it usually ends up being "essay writing time".

So, Maya's class schedule kinda stinks. She goes from 8:15am until 11:15am, we are so not a morning family! I hate having to wake up both of the kids to get through the door by 8:05am every morning. Some mornings Nick is able to take Maya to school for me, which has been wonderful. I love having so much one on one time with my little man, Josh! We do story time at the library on Thursdays, and the rest of the week is wide open to do whatever we want. He usually wants to play cars or wrestle, so that's what we do. It's nice that he gets to make a choice instead of his bossy big sister! One nice thing about Maya's schedule is that she gets out early enough that we can still do fun things right after school. One day we went to the Detroit zoo. Seriously the best investment we make each year! It's close enough that we can go for the morning or afternoon and be back home at a reasonable time. We really liked the new lion area that was recently built. Josh was so excited to see them from a distance, but then as they got closer, he started taking steps back. He ended up clinging on to my leg for the longest time and started saying, "No yike yions mom! No yike those guys!" So sad.

Sweet face

We had a great day at the zoo. Only thing missing was Nick!

I bought Josh some new church clothes and winter stuff recently. I found a really cute little outfit that had a tie included, his first tie! He was so excited, he wore it 3 days straight with any type of shirt. I had to draw the line at sleeping in it. He kept talking about how he was the same as daddy. Cute little guy.

I love this little boy so much!

A few weeks ago we went to the cider mill for family night. We've been wanting to try a new one but didn't have enough time to make the longer drive. We had fun anyway!

Pretty Michigan

Funny Josh. He kept posing like this, cheesy smile and hands in his lap, even before I would decide to take his picture. I just had to look down at him to see that he was ready to have his picture taken!

I love all the fall activities. Your hair looks super cute in that picture with Josh.
