Mom's visit - part 1

We had a great time with my mom and dad in town. I may need to break it up because I have a lot to post between her visit, Halloween, Birthdays, etc.

The kids counted down for a whole month to the day my mom came. Maya, especially, was so excited! We kept an eye on her flight on the computer all day. It was fun to see the anticipation in the kids' eyes as they watched the picture of the plane move across the screen. On the way to the airport we stopped and got some flowers, and a miniature pumpkin to give Grandma. Maya and I had also worked on a poster board for her a few days prior.

The next day we had a Halloween party for Josh at his library story time. Having my mom there was the best! Josh was a monkey, but if you were to ask him he'd say, "I'm a 'OOH OOH AHHH AHHH'."

It was great to be able to celebrate mom's birthday in person with her this year. Nick took the day off on Friday, October 28th (her bday), so we went shopping at Kohl's, and to lunch at Panera Bread! It was so nice to get away, just the two of us. That night we had pizza, carved 2 pumpkins (Just Maya and I were into it this year) and rented "Hocus Pocus" to get in the Halloween spirit. We forgot how scary it can be for little kids, I don't think Maya and Josh liked it too much. It was SO great to celebrate with my mom though!
