Yup, we are having another baby! I am currently in my 13th week which means I will be out of the first trimester soon. This pregnancy has been awful, much worse than my previous two, so hitting the second trimester will feel really good. Much of my November and December was spent in bed or in the bathroom, not fun! On top of the normal nausea, throwing up and body aches, this time around I have been getting terrible head aches, extra saliva production, and smell aversions, (J's poopy diapers, smelly hand sanitizers, onions, ANYTHING smelly - even if I normally find it to be a good smell, like laundry soap. I also had this weird thing which Webmd called Dysgeusia, basically from about 8 weeks to 12 weeks my mouth tasted like metal no matter what I ate or drank, brushing my teeth and using mouth wash even made it worse. I found out that if I gargled salt water multiple times a day it would make the taste a little better. (Thank you internet!) It didn't help that I had so much extra saliva in my mouth to deal with at the same time. THANKFULLY this has stopped for the most part! I still get a little sick at night, have headaches, and now some insomnia, but I'm feeling much better than I did a few weeks ago. I'm hoping to gain some more energy soon so that Maya will stop asking me, "What!? Do you just like to lay around the house ALL day?" My poor kids and Nick. I was practically living in my bathrobe for all of Christmas break, one day Nick said, "Soooooo, think we'll get you out of that robe sometime in the next few days?" Haha, he was such a huge help. I'm thankful it worked out to be over a time period when he was home so the kids weren't totally neglected. He is the best and took good care of me.
My first appointment was last week, it made all of these yucky side effects worth it to see our little baby doing somersaults, kicking, and just being crazy inside of me. For some reason I have been really worried about this pregnancy and I was so happy and humbled to hear the heart beating. Even with the third baby, I can't help but be so amazed with this whole process. I can't wait to find out what the gender is so we can start planning things out a little more. I'm excited to hold on to my little guy or girl and snuggle, but for now we are enjoying life as the four of us because I know things are going to get a lot more complicated and hectic once July hits!

Congratulations Tara! If you have survived two, three will be a breeze, the older ones have each other! I'm so glad you're feeling better.
Congratulations Tara (and family)! I found your blog through Michelle Dalton's. I'm glad that you are feeling better, I didn't know you had been feeling so badly. We would love to have the kids over sometime to give you a little break, and just to have some friends to play! I'm so very happy for you! Babies are such miracles!

Congratulations!!!! I had no idea!! Am I the last to know or is this how you're first telling people? I'm so happy for you. I really thought you guys were going to put it off for a while. I wish you all the best. Anytime you want me to take your kids, let me know. I really, really wish I'd known earlier, I could have taken them when you were feeling so lousy! I wish you a happy, healthy 2nd and 3rd trimesters.
Oh hooray! I'm super excited for you to have another little one! You are both great parents (and dear friends) and this baby is coming to one of the best families ever! Congratulations!

I'm so excited for you :) Sorry it's been so crappy up til now - I totally know how that goes (I was permanently sick for 28wks with Luke and 16 with Kate)... I'm hoping my #3 will be a breeze. lol. Can't wait to hear what you're having... any preference?
Wish I was there to give you a hand. I know Luke would love to have Josh boy over to play, and Maya to boss them around. lol. So wish I lived there still :(
