Summer is over...

I can't believe that this is the last day of summer! Maya starts Kindergarten tomorrow and Josh will be in preschool two days a week starting next week. They are both excited, and I am relieved to get back to some sort of routine, although Maya will be extremely missed. She is really looking forward to school. I asked her what subject she thinks she'll like the most and she said math or science. Josh says he can't wait to see what cars and trains they have in the classroom, he also says he's, "too shy of my teacher." It will be interesting to see how he adjusts. We're hoping it will make him grow up a little more since he loves to act like a baby to get out of things. We also signed him up for a Fall soccer league. Should be fun to watch! Cora is doing great! She turned 1 month on the 23rd of August, which is just crazy to me, it has gone by pretty fast. The first few weeks were hard as she was extremely gassy and fussy every evening. I had one too many nervous breakdowns in the evening when Nick was working late and I had to put all 3 of the little monsters to bed...usually with all three of them screaming or fussing! It was pretty hectic and frustrating. However, Cora is doing much better now and is content most of the time. She goes to bed around 9pm and is usually up once in the middle of the night to eat. She's even had a few nights with stretches of 7-8 hours of sleep. She is awesome! She started smiling a week ago, and has the sweetest smile ever! Cora's stats after 1 month: Weight: 10 lbs. 6 oz. Length: 21 1/2 inches
Just a funny picture that made us laugh. Not a huge fan of this headband!
She had her first bath at 2 weeks old, one day after her umbilical cord came off. I was so relieved when it finally fell off, those sponge baths just weren't cutting it! She loves bath time and only cries when we take her out of the water and she gets cold.
On Tuesday night we went to our school district's "Bounce Back to School" night. They had tons of bounce houses, carnival games, a petting zoo, and treats for sale. It would have been a lot of fun if Nick would have been able to come along and if about 200 less people were there. It was crazy crowded and we only got to do a handful of things. It was good to get out and support the district though, and it made Maya even more excited for school!
While we were waiting in line Maya was dancing to the music and doing cartwheels. She didn't seem to care who was watching! It was really cute. I love her.
Nick took a day off last week and we headed up to Kent Lake for a few hours. It was such a beautiful day and it wasn't crowded at all. I sat in the shade with Cora the entire time, but Nick and the kids had a great time in the water! Unfortunately, this is the only picture I got. We will miss you summer!!!
