An Interesting Labor Day...and other things.

The day started off pretty normal; a trip to Home Depot for some tulip bulbs, Maya's nap, and Nick studied. We were going to go to the Detroit Zoo so Nick could rest his brain and we could see all of the animals but decided against it. (Money, time, etc...) It'll have to wait a couple of weeks. So we just spent the day together and enjoyed each other. After Nick was done studying we went to this ice cream place called Ritter's. I had a banana scoop in a waffle cone and shared it with Maya, she LOVES ice cream. Then we went to Babie's R Us to pick out some new jammies for M.

I planted the tulips on the side of the garage, next year we'll add a new border and maybe some bark.

When we got home Nick volunteered to bathe Maya (YAY!) and I just did some laundry and watched HGTV. About 5 minutes into the bath I hear Nick say, "Maya, don't you even think about it...NOOOOOO!" I went running in the bathroom to find 2 little poops floating in the tub with my oblivious baby girl!! Maya kept playing with her toys while Nick was trying to fish them out as fast as possible but I told him to slow down so I could get the camera! We need to save these pictures as black mail for when she's older and giving us hell :) The funniest part, I did the same thing when I was a baby but my big brother Chad was in the tub with me! Poor guy.

After some laughs and pictures Nick took Maya into her room to get her pajamas on and she crawled off while his back was turned. Here she comes into our room without any clothes on and just as happy as can be! This is the really sad part, she was being so funny and wild and she ran right into our bed frame and really hurt her eye. There is a small cut and it has been swollen the last couple of days. I'd imagine that it hurts pretty badly.

Nick had all day Tuesday off for his big test. He was not being very confident and wasn't sure if he'd get a good score because of the math section. He got to the building and said he had to be finger-printed twice before the test and once after to make sure it was really him. He tested for 3.5 hours and he got a score that was much higher than he anticipated! I am so proud of him, he has been studying so hard for the last couple of months and it has paid off! Now he can finally start school!

My friend had a garage sale the other day and I got a great deal! They were selling a Graco double stroller for $15! I know, we only have one child but I couldn't pass it up. It is in great shape too! Now if I could just convince my husband to have another one....just kidding. We got Maya's new carseat today and I can't believe how big she is! The seat looks really comfy, I wish they made them for big people :)

How many stroller does one kid need!? We got this trailer for Maya's birthday and already opened it. Now I just need a bike from Salvation Army or some place cheap so I can pull her in it. Of course, she still has her bear in there.

Sometimes I go to this family-owned market that sells landscaping and produce. Nick doesn't like me to shop their because the fruit is never ripe and sometimes other things are rotten. Maybe that's why their produce is so cheap! Anyway, I did find some cute flowers for the front of the house. The hanging basket was only $2.99 and so were the mums in the pot on the right.

I also got these flowers there; only $1.65!! They are beautiful! This picture was taken in our guest room and that is the dresser that Nick re-finished. I love having a handy man around the house! We got the handles for the drawers but haven't installed them yet :) Something that will need to be finished by next Monday when Gramma Debbie gets here!!!

So what kind of car seat is it? I bought another one in Germany for our rental car and love it even more than my Graco car seat from here. I love it so much that I made the effort to lug it home even though I'd planned to leave it there.
