Saturday Project

Today was awesome! We spent the entire day fixing up our front yard and a little of the back yard too. We decided that our front yard looks pretty trashy so we finally trimmed the bushes, weeded the flower bed, put edging in, and layed down some bark.

It looks completely different to me, I just love it! We are going to add some more plants eventually but I am amazed with how one day of work can totally transform an area. Nick was out there non-stop working his little heart out. Maya was well behaved all day and let us get all of the work done. She played in her little pool/hose for most of the day and then took a LONG 3 hour nap. Here are some pictures:

The Final Product!!

Now we just need to add a little more color with some new plants, maybe next weekend.

This past week was a lot of fun because we went on a lot of family bike rides together. One night we rode to the park and spent about an hour pushing Maya in the swing. She also discovered the monkey bars and that she loves to hang from them and then drop. (Don't worry, Nick was there to catch her.) That girl loves to swing! I swear, if she could be pushed in a swing all day she would. I get too bored and tired from pushing her so I'm glad Nick was there to trade off with me. Here are some pictures from our fun night at the park.

Off we go!! (This pic. was taken on a different night, but it was so cute I had to post it.)

I hope she didn't pick up Benjamin's bad habit of climbing up on the bars when you're not around! Funny that she startd doing that right after she saw him do it at Park Days. Great job on your yard. Come over to our house anytime. :)

I love a yard project! It makes you feel so good to be outside when you've done something to spruce up the yard. Awesome job!
